NOLA-based Funders Collaborative Wins National Award - February 15, 2011
On February 15th, Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced that New Orleans is one of six communities in the South and Southwest to be awarded funds from the National Fund for Workforce Solutions to develop innovative approaches to job training and career support in the biotech and health care sectors.
“This grant will help us build a workforce development conveyor belt that will allow the unskilled worker to participate in the expanded biotech/healthcare industry centered on the new facilities within the BioDistrict,” said James McNamara, President & CEO of BioDistrict New Orleans. “Our focus is on jobs for New Orleanians and developing the means is critical to the growth and development of a livable community.” Learn more...
